About Behest Indie Novelist Services

Behest Indie Novelist Services is owned and run from North-East England by Heather Belleguelle.

Professional

I have a BA (Hons) in Modern Languages (French and Russian). Studying languages to degree level required me to develop my communication skills, both verbal and written, and to study a variety of literature.

Immediately after graduating, I spent three and a half years working as a school library assistant. More recently, I have spent a number of years working in administration for a couple of charities/non-profits and for my previous church. This meant that I spent quite a bit of time writing and editing letters, newsletters and documents.

I completed Open IT UK's English Grammar course in 2015.

I began beta reading in 2013 as a volunteer for American indie author Peggy L Henderson (Laramie Award Category winner 2014 and 2016 RONE Award Winner). From 2016, I also spent about eighteen months as part of the "Tasting Panel" for British publisher Choc Lit, helping to critique and evaluate manuscripts submitted for potential publication.

Books and Reading

I was only twenty months old when my mum started teaching me to read, and I've been a lover of reading and words ever since. I enjoy a range of fiction from classics to cozy and legal mysteries, family saga, inspirational fiction, romance, chick lit and young adult novels, in both historical and contemporary settings. I have an interest in people so I also like to read a biography or autobiography from time to time. My favourite authors include: Jeffrey Archer, Jane Austen, ML Gardner, John Grisham, Peggy L Henderson, Kristen Heitzmann, Kate Morton, Nevil Shute, Janet MacLeod Trotter and Paula Wiseman.

Personal

I've been happily married to Steve since 1991 and we live in the beautiful north-east of England. During the parts of my leisure time when I'm not glued to my Kindle, I enjoy researching my family history, and watching sports, quiz programmes, and detective dramas. I have also been known to write the occasional short story.
